People Matter – Peer Support and Employee Assistance to support your health and wellbeing

Based on your feedback in last year’s People Matter survey we have introduced a full Peer Support Program and changes to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to better support your psychological health and general health and wellbeing.

Peer Support is a dedicated resource to support our employees with health and wellbeing concerns. The program is delivered by 130 peers who have not only attended formalised training but  have volunteered to provide an empathic ear to colleagues who may be struggling with personal, training, work, health or other life problems. Staff experiencing any of these issues are encouraged to directly contact a Peer Supporter for a confidential discussion and assistance in finding the right resources to address the issue.

Our health and wellbeing commitment to all our employees under Monash Care is continuously developing and growing. This year we will deliver an improved Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for everyone, providing qualified, experienced, independent counsellors for you to use. With more dedicated helplines, increased session availability and increased streams for help across a broader range of work and life issues, EAP will also be more accessible through various booking options and a smartphone app.  There is also a portal with extensive health and wellbeing support and resources. To complete our improvements we are also partnering with the Black Dog Institute developing online and face-to-face training for psychosocial and mental health support. This year’s People Matter Survey is coming up in May, so look out for your opportunity to give your feedback.
