Moorabbin spent a week adorned in pink to celebrate their recent hand hygiene achievements of exceeding the 80% target during April (81%), May (84%) and June (MTD 83 %). In addition Moorabbin can now celebrate their successes in outstanding outcomes with a 99% result in the quarter 3 Victorian Health Experience Survey.
Throughout the week there was additional education while representatives from 3M attended all clinical areas, UV scanning the hands of more than 60 staff. While having some fun, it highlighted the serious side of how effectively we really clean our hands and the practice change that may be required to do this more effectively to keep our patients, staff and community safe.
